Welcome to the official website site of Kendriya Vidyalaya No.1 Tezpur, one of the prestigious educational institutions of Sonitpur ( Assam ). This center of excellence which was first established in July 1971 as a defence sector school affiliated to CBSE.

Kendriya Vidyalaya No.1 Tezpur is also selected as PM SHRI School in 2nd Phase. We are nurturing the future citizen as per guidelines laid in NEP 2020. Our main focus is to ensure the overall growth of the students which may acquire the skills as per the demand of 21st century.

Teachers of Kendriya Vidyalaya No.1 Tezpur are trained as per the demand of NEP 2020. Teachers are well equipped in adopting the pedagogical approaches as per the NCFS(SE). we promote the child centered teaching learning process so that child may develop holistically and reach their full potential

It is situated 12 Km North of Tezpur town in Army sector. This Vidyalaya has the strength of more than 1300 students & 60 staff on. It is a three section school with all the three streams Science, Commerce & Humanities (one section each). It has moulded many Teachers, Scientists, Technocrats, Doctors, Engineers & Administrators who occupy enviable positions in various walks of life.

Kendriya Vidyalaya No.1 Tezpur offers quality education fully equipped with Science and Computer labs, Games and Sports and facilities, Toy library, AI based Lab etc.

Since its inception in July 1971 first batch approved in AISSE (Class X) in 1977. The first batch appeared AISSCE (Class XII) in 1979. The KVS was please to offers Commerce stream in the Vidyalaya with the strong demand from the side of the sponsoring authority the first batch took admission in Commerce stream in 1996-97.
